Detailed description

The XCAF-12D antenna is mainly used in the 902~928MHz radio frequency identification system, the center frequency is 915MHz, can be directly connected to the reader through the coaxial cable, small size, easy to install, can be well matched with the coaxial cable and has a good direction.

Installation method
XCAF-12D type antenna is suitable for buried installation. The antenna must be used together with the shield on the back and the antenna cover plate on the front. The material of the antenna cover plate must be 5cm thick bakelite.

Circular Polarization Mode of Antenna
Two spatially orthogonal linearly polarized waves of equal amplitude can be synthesized into a circularly polarized wave. The circularly polarized waves can be divided into left-handed and right-handed circularly polarized waves according to the different directions of rotation of the electric field. A right-handed polarized wave is an electromagnetic wave conforming to the right-handed rule, and a left-handed circularly polarized wave is an electromagnetic wave conforming to the left-handed rule. The polarization mode of the XCAR-12D antenna is circular polarization, so within the reading range of the antenna, the tag can be read even if it rotates at will. However, for most tags that work in a polar mode, when receiving circular polarized waves, the power that the tag can receive is lost by half. Therefore, when the reader uses a circular polar antenna, the reading and writing distance is shorter than that of a general linear polarized antenna. XCAF-12D is a low gain antenna, its radome material is PS engineering plastic.

When the frequency range is exceeded, the standing wave ratio value of the antenna increases sharply, and the performance of the antenna drops sharply.

The antenna has different radiation or reception capabilities in different directions in space, which is the directivity of the antenna. The maximum direction of the antenna radiation is in the normal direction perpendicular to the antenna surface, and the radiated energy is basically concentrated in this direction. On the back of the antenna, the radiated energy is very small. Once the shape and size of the antenna are set, the direction of the antenna is also set, that is, the distance of reading the tag depends entirely on the power transmitted by the reader.
