The XCAF-12L antenna is mainly used in the 902~928MHz radio frequency identification system, the center frequency is 915MHz, can be directly connected to the reader through the coaxial cable, small size, easy to install, can be well matched with the coaxial cable and has a good direction.
Circular Polarization Mode of Antenna
Two spatially orthogonal linearly polarized waves of equal amplitude can be synthesized into a circularly polarized wave. The circularly polarized waves can be divided into left-handed and right-handed circularly polarized waves according to the different directions of rotation of the electric field. A right-handed polarized wave is an electromagnetic wave conforming to the right-handed rule, and a left-handed circularly polarized wave is an electromagnetic wave conforming to the left-handed rule. The polarization mode of the XCAR-12L antenna is circular polarization, so within the reading range of the antenna, the tag can be read even if it rotates at will. However, for most tags that work in a polar mode, when receiving circular polarized waves, the power that the tag can receive is lost by half. Therefore, when the reader uses a circular polar antenna, the reading and writing distance is shorter than that of a general linear polarized antenna. The XCAF-12L is a low gain antenna, and its radome material is ABS engineering plastic.

The reader of the RFID system must emit energy through the antenna to form an electromagnetic field, and identify the electronic tag through the electromagnetic field. It can be said that the electromagnetic field range formed by the antenna is the readable area of the radio frequency system. Sometimes the RFID system is transmitted and received by an antenna at the same time; sometimes the RFID system is transmitted by one antenna and received by another antenna. The form and number of antennas used should depend on the specific application.
