The data collector has three different collection operation modes

Release Time:2014-06-12

Now data collection is very common, in many companies and factories are used, in general, according to the different fields used, data collector has three different collection operation mode, they have different advantages and disadvantages, adapt to different workplaces. So everyone should collect the operation mode in three ways:

g

wireless acquisition

Using wireless network and communication technology, the data interface of the management system is provided for the bar code equipment to complete the two-way transmission of data. The real-time query of data on bar code equipment and the real-time verification and transmission of field data collection are realized. In this way, data can be collected and processed in real time, and the wireless handheld terminal can access the database through the WebService service.

Advantages: not limited by wired equipment lines, timely data processing, no need to download offline files, real-time verification of collected data, easy to use.

Disadvantages: The price of the equipment is high, the wireless equipment needs to develop special programs, and the wireless network signal may be unstable, causing data transmission interruption. This method can be used for warehouse, workshop site, freight, catering barcode scanning applications.

online scanning

Use the barcode scanner to connect directly to the business management system instead of the manual input function. There are two ways of use: one is to use barcode identification equipment to check the physical objects during the process of filling in or confirming the documents, and the other is to directly read the scan results of barcode scanner as the detailed items of the documents.

Advantages: Low equipment price, suitable for scanning inventory volume is small, scanning work point is fixed. The scanning terminal does not need to do software development, and the scanning process of the scanner is equivalent to the serial input process of the keyboard.

Disadvantages: The length of the wired equipment cable is limited, and the range of activities of the scanner is limited. Commonly used in supermarket retail, chain sales, workshop products offline scanning and other occasions.

offline acquisition

Wireless acquisition and online scanning offline acquisition (batch mode)

Use bar code collector to collect data on the warehouse site. After processing, the collected data is transferred to the management system through the communication interface (usually through serial communication), and the management system generates the corresponding business documents.

Bar code collector is an intelligent terminal device. Before collecting business data, business task data can be downloaded from the business management system, collected and identified within the scope of the task, and some simple judgment and prompt of the scope of the task can be made.

Advantages: faster scanning speed, not subject to site distance restrictions, relative to the wireless mode, the operation is simple and functional stability.

Disadvantages: data cannot be processed in real time, and manual participation in data export and import is required. After new basic data is added, basic data needs to be downloaded again. The processing after collection is cumbersome, and the workload of secondary development is relatively large. Equipment procurement costs are between online equipment and wireless equipment. This method can be used for barcode scanning applications in warehouses, workshops, and freight sites.
