What is a bar code detector and what are its functions?
Release Time:2020-07-29
Bar code detector is a kind of precision measuring equipment, which can reliably measure symbols and analyze the scanning and reading performance of symbols within a certain range. Before use, the barcode detector needs to be calibrated to ensure the repeatability of the measurement results. Let's learn what barcode detector is from the following aspects?
What is a barcode detector?
1) A barcode is a special form of code read by a scanner.
2) The optical characteristics and dimensional accuracy of the bar code forming the bar code symbol are the key to correctly reading different bar codes. If the contrast between the strip and the blank does not meet the requirements of the scanner, the strip is blurred, and the first readout rate will be reduced, or even cannot be correctly identified at all. If the dimensional accuracy of the barcode exceeds the tolerance, it will cause a high error rate of character replacement and cannot be read correctly.
3) According to the International Barcode Association (EAN) tracking survey of bar code quality, the first problem of bar code quality is coding errors, mainly heavy codes; second, bar code symbol errors: the contrast is not enough, the blank area is too small, and the bar code symbol is truncated; Third, the dimensional accuracy of the bar code and the position of the bar code are incorrect. In order to read the bar code correctly, the bar code inspection report must be attached to the bar code packaging goods exported to the United States and Europe. The report is formed by the bar code inspection agency or the customs or the enterprise itself, and has a recognized testing instrument.
Therefore, in order to read the bar code correctly, the bar code quality inspection must be carried out during the printing or printing process to ensure the bar code quality.
Barcode detector function
1.
1) General detection (traditional verifier): The detection results of the above detection content are directly given. The detection personnel can query the detection standards, compare the detection results, and determine the quality of the detected barcode.
2)ANSI detection: The above detection content is converted into α-F by detection and calculation. A grade quality is the best, F grade is unqualified. Products exported to the United States usually require ANSI test results.
3) Film master detection: In addition to the above detection contents, the original film should also be tested according to the national standard for the dimensional accuracy of each film, and the accuracy is as high as/-0.005mm. The reduction in bar width (BWR) was also examined.
4) Bar code sampling inspection: technical inspection of sampling samples shall be carried out by trained professionals in accordance with national standards (enterprises without testing ability shall be sent to legal bar code quality inspection institutions for inspection). Test report shall be formed. Batch printing can only be carried out after inspection.
2. the establishment of bar code printing quality inspection system
Establish a bar code printing quality inspection system, with original inspection records and inspection reports, with inspection samples. If it is not qualified, it shall be sent to the legal bar code quality inspection institution for inspection, and the corresponding inspection records and inspection reports shall be submitted.
1) Control of barcode printing and testing equipment
Bar code printing equipment should meet the accuracy requirements of bar code printing. There are records of verification, accounting, operation and maintenance to ensure that the printing equipment meets the requirements of bar code printing. Barcode testing equipment should also be approved or calibrated by national statutory testing agencies. If there is no testing equipment, a written authorization testing agreement shall be signed with the national statutory bar code quality inspection agency.
2) The raw materials printed by bar code shall be inspected (warehousing inspection) and recorded;
3) Bar code printability test should be carried out and a report should be formed;
4) Test and record the barcode sample.
5) Sampling, inspection and recording of finished bar code printing products.
