What is the reason why the scanning gun cannot recognize the barcode?
Release Time:2020-07-10
One is the problem of bar code label and the other is the problem of scanning gun identification. Bar code is divided into A, B, C, D, E and F five levels, of which A level is the best quality, B level is the second, F level is the lowest, and general bar code gun is difficult to read.

Questions about barcode scanning gun scanning identification
1. The scanner may not have turned on the function of identifying such bar codes;
2. Direct sunlight causes the photosensitive device of the barcode scanner to enter the saturation zone, which may lead to unreadable;
3. The bar code does not conform to the specifications, such as the lack of necessary blank areas, the bar code contrast is too low, and the bar code width ratio is inappropriate;
4. The hardware failure of the barcode scanner itself;
5. The transparent material on the surface of the bar code label, because the surface reflection is too high, although the eyes can see the bar code, the reading conditions of the collector are strict, resulting in the inability to read.
The above are some of the problems that often occur when the barcode scanner cannot scan. We can eliminate the reasons step by step. The first is to detect the barcode label; the second is to check the barcode scanner; finally, check the barcode recognition matching problem.
The problem of bar code label-bar code quality is abnormal, mainly including: bar code deformation, bar code vertical disconnection, bar code blank area width is not enough, and bar code bar and empty color matching problem. Since the bar code is a symbol with unique characteristics, if the bar code is deformed at will, especially when the bar code is made by software such as Coreldraw, the bar code may not be read.
When the bar code printer prints the bar code label, the broken needle of the print head and the wrinkling of the carbon tape may lead to the vertical disconnection of the bar code, thus causing the bar code scanner to be unable to read the bar code. The blank area of the bar code, that is, the left and right blank edges of the bar code, is at least 10 times the width of the narrow bar. If the blank area is not enough, the bar code cannot be read;
There is a problem with the matching of bar and empty colors of bar codes. Improper matching of bar code colors may lead to bar codes that cannot be recognized. Colors with high reflectivity will be recognized as empty and colors with low reflectivity will be recognized as bars. Generally speaking, bar codes with blue bars on white background can be read, bar codes with black bars on red background can be read, bar codes with purple bars on yellow background cannot be read, and bar codes with black bars on blue background cannot be read.
