CCD scanner, laser handheld scanner and full-angle laser scanner is more common supermarket chain barcode scanner equipment.
CCD scanner: is the use of optical coupling (CCD) principle, the barcode printing pattern for imaging, and then decoding. Its advantages are: no shaft, motor, long service life; low price.
When choosing a CCD scanner, two parameters are most important:
(1) Depth of field
Since the imaging principle of CCD is similar to that of a camera, if the depth of field is to be increased, the lens is correspondingly increased, so that the CCD is too large and inconvenient to operate. Excellent CCD should not be close to the bar code can be read, and the volume is moderate, comfortable operation.
(2) Resolution
If the CCD resolution is to be improved, the unit element of the photosensitive element at the imaging site must be increased. Low-cost CCD is generally 5 pixels (pixel), reading EAN,UPC and other commercial codes is enough, for other code system reading will be more difficult. The mid-range CCD is 1024pixel, and some even reach 2048 pixel, which can distinguish the bar code with the narrowest unit element of 0.1mm.
Laser handheld scanner is the use of laser diode as a light source of single-line scanner, it is mainly rotating mirror type and chattering mirror type two.
Rotating mirror type: It uses a high-speed motor to drive a prism group to rotate, so that the single-point laser emitted by the diode becomes a line.
The production cost of the chattering mirror type is lower than that of the rotating mirror type, but the laser gun of this principle is not easy to increase the scanning speed, generally 33 times per second. Individual models can reach 100 times per second.
When choosing a laser scanner, the most important thing for commercial enterprises is to pay attention to scanning speed and resolution, and depth of field is not a key factor. Because when the depth of field increases, the resolution will be greatly reduced. An excellent hand-held laser scanner should have high scanning speed and high resolution within a fixed depth of field.
Full-angle scanner: It is a bar code scanner that refracts the laser emitted by the laser diode or multiple scanning lines through the optical system. The main purpose is to reduce the labor of aligning the bar code when the payee enters the bar code data. When selecting, attention should be paid to the distribution of the scanning line spots:
(1) There are multiple parallel lines in one direction;
(2) There are multiple scanning lines passing through at a certain point;
(3) The interpretation probability of each point tends to be consistent within a certain spatial range.
(4) A full-angle scanner that meets the above three points must be the first choice for merchants.
