The difference between data collector and barcode scanner:

1. The barcode scanner itself has no memory, and can only work after connecting with the computer. The scanned data is directly displayed in the place where the computer cursor is positioned. Although the wireless scanner can be connected to the computer wirelessly, the distance is limited.

2. The data collector has its own memory and can work without connecting to the computer, so the distance from the computer is not limited. The scanned data is first stored in the memory of the collector, and then the data is transferred to the computer through the transmission base for batch processing. The high-end collector has PDA type, which not only has more functions (using WINDOWS CE operating system) but also can realize wireless local area network function (WLAN) and can connect with computer in real time.
