Zebra Launches 2D Barcode Scanner DS4308-XD 3600 Series

Update: Today, June 29, 2016, Zebra Technology launched two new two-dimensional (2D) scanners in China. The new 3600 series includes 12 ultra-rugged scanners with enhanced ruggedness and scanning performance, and unparalleled ease of management in harsh industrial environments. DS4308-XD specifically for the electronics manufacturing industry, it can capture various barcodes and logos on circuit boards and other electronic components, and track and manage each component on the production line with advanced scanning technology.

3600 Series Main Features

Both 1D and 2D versions of the 3600 series provide wired and wireless options for faster and more accurate performance in sorting, packaging, shipping, receiving, intermediate flow (WIP), inventory tracking, traceability, cross-shipping, and POS applications.

This ultra-rugged scanner series is designed for harsh application environments and provides the industry's highest anti-drop, anti-seismic, and sealing specifications. It is also the industry's first scanner with IP67 waterproofing and can withstand complete immersion under water for up to 30 minutes.

Zebra's 3600 series offers industry-leading 1D and 2D barcode scanning performance-whether it's high-density barcodes, displayed on a mobile phone screen, shrink-wrapped or printed on paper, or broken or dirty barcodes.

Zebra Technology's PowerPrecision smart battery technology provides industry-leading charging meters to visualize battery power. Users can monitor battery life and remaining power to ensure that the device uses a good battery.

The 3600 series also won the industry's prestigious 2016 Red Dot Award for its outstanding design based on ergonomics and efficiency principles.

Main characteristics of DS4308-XD

The DS4308-XD is optimized to read very high-density barcodes, and scan 1D, 2D, and PDF417 barcodes quickly and accurately, including half-inch, longer-range barcodes.

DS4308-XD can capture barcodes on a variety of media, including barcodes printed on paper, plastic, metal, printed circuit boards (PCBs), or electronic subcomponents such as memory chips. It can also read small, direct signs printed on non-reflective surfaces, as well as bar codes displayed on mobile devices or computer screens.

Designed for noisy production environments, the DS4308-XD is the only scanner of its kind that integrates tactile (vibrational) feedback. This allows workers to know immediately when to apply which component on the production line without error, even if they cannot hear the tone.

DS4308-XD integrates a range of functions, including full scanning, reading at any density and long distance, making data capture easier, faster and more accurate.

The intelligent autonomous detection cable automatically determines the interface, eliminating the need to scan multiple configuration barcodes.
